I have spent most of my years in Nova Scotia. I was born in English Harbour West, Newfoundland, and proud of it. Many years ago I started collecting model trains. Also I started taking pictures of trains stations and now they have disappeared in history. With the help of others I have a collection of train station photos. Hence the Stationmaster was created.

From the early 1800s many railway stations have been built throughout Nova Scotia and over the years, stations have been in the landscape of most communities. For generations it was where all greetings and farewells took place. The architecture of our railway stations is a significant element in our railway history.

They saw a dream of loveliness descending from the train.
- Charles G. Leland

The emphasis of this website is placed on existing stations, and to bring attention to those buildings, and to encourage everyone to visit them. We would also like to encourage the workers to preserve them as a significant part of our heritage.
